CFI-A Lesson 19 (Part 1)

Finally, after over a week, I found my name on the schedule once again. Last week was hard to schedule, since I had guests in town and my instructor had his own plans.

Today's lesson covered a brief on Crosswind Approaches and a flight with pretty much everything. The weather looked good in the morning, but there were showers and thunderstorms forecast for the afternoon. An hour before leaving for the airport, the rain began to fall. By the time I arrived at the airport, I could hear the rumble of thunder from a distant storm.

I claimed a briefing room and started preparing for my ground brief. When my instructor arrived, we talked about the weather and came to the same conclusion: no flying today. I presented my ground brief and my instructor gave his critique. He pointed out that I mentioned 'weathervaning', but didn't actually define it. Otherwise, the brief was pretty good.
