For the past week, we've had the pleasure of hosting Susan's dad. He came down from Virginia - alone - and stayed for a week. His trip didn't start too well. He was supposed to fly from Richmond to New York to Orlando. As it turned out, his flight from Richmond was held on the ground for hours due to storms in the Northeast. By the time he arrived in New York, his flight had already left. He eventually caught a flight out of New York in the wee hours of the morning, but not to Orlando. He ended up in Atlanta and spent the night in the waiting area. The next day, he eventually caught a flight down to Orlando.
When we arrived at the airport to pick him up, his checked bag was nowhere to be found. We waited by the baggage claim carousel until there were no bags left, then walked down the hall to the Delta baggage claim department. Thankfully, his bag was in the small room waiting for him to find it. I'm still not sure how it got there before him.
On Sunday, we went on a little tour of the area. We started at South Beach, where we played in the sand for about an hour. Then we headed north up the coast until we reached Sebastian. I selected the cool playground that Andrew loves in the GPS and let it direct us there. Andrew and I played while Susan sat and talked to her dad.
A few days later, it was time for George to return to Virgina. His departure itinerary included flights from Orlando to Cincinnati to Richmond. The Orlando departure was pretty early, so we were hoping we might spend the night in Sanford. Aunt Cathy and Uncle Dave invited us to stay at the 'B&B'. The next morning, we all climbed out of bed by 5:30 and ate a fabulous breakfast before heading to the airport. Thankfully, George's return flight was non-eventful and he returned home on schedule and relaxed.
